Nissan Renews Partnership with Habitat for Humanity

At Woodhouse Nissan Bellevue, we’re so proud of the commitment that Nissan has made to improving communities everywhere. Their partnership with Habitat for Humanity, especially, is a long-standing collaboration that has undoubtedly changed lives worldwide.
What is Habitat for Humanity?
Habitat for Humanity is an organization that strives to give everyone a decent place to live. Founded in 1976, the Christian housing organization started as a grassroots movement in South Georgia and has expanded to a leading global nonprofit organization that serves all 50 states in the United States and over 70 countries worldwide. Habitat for Humanity homeowners work with the organization and its volunteers to build their own homes to help improve their way of life with a better home and affordable mortgage.
Why Does Nissan Partner with Habitat for Humanity?
Habitat for Humanity’s partnership with Nissan began in 2005. Nissan first donated 50 trucks and mobilized employees to help rebuild homes in the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Since that day, Nissan has contributed over $20 million to Habitat for Humanity projects in the United States and worldwide.
How is Nissan Involved Now?
Recently, Nissan and Habitat for Humanity have renewed their collaboration in hopes of providing affordable housing in communities where their customers live, and employees work. This recent commitment marks their 18th year of “building homes, communities, and hope around the world.” This year, they are renewing their commitment with a generous $800,000 donation.
